CALL TO ORDER
The Nutrition Advisory Council Chair Brunner called the meeting to order at 10 a.m.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
1. Nutrition Advisory Council Regular Meeting December 11, 2019

The Council members reviewed the minutes from the December 11, 2019
Brunner asked if there were any changes, additions or corrections. A motion was made to
accept the minutes by Council member Deja; seconded by Council member Quale; motion
carried.
RESULT: APPROVED
PUBLIC COMMENT
Chair Brunner opened the floor for public comment.
There was one comment regarding too much corn on the menu.
BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Home-Delivered Meal Program Statistics and Trends by Brandy Zeuli, Outreach Coordinator
Outreach Coordinator Zeuli informed the NAC that there are currently 140 participants
on the Home-Delivered Meal Program (HDM).
Zeuli shared she has not received many concerns regarding the meals from the
homebound participants.
an annual thing made possible through a donation to the United Way of St. Croix Valley
and are filled with a variety of fresh fruit.
Zeuli mentioned that the volunteer availability in Hudson and New Richmond is doing
better.

2. Elderly Nutrition Program Menu Suggestions and Recommendations
A variety of comments were shared regarding the meals from the last menu cycle.
Hanson reviewed some new products with the Council members that will be put into the
menu rotation over time.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
3. Group Purchasing Organization Update for Elderly Nutrition Program by Randi Hanson
There have been some bumps in the ordering with having to find similar products as the
previous vendor. We will not see any cost savings until later in the year.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
4. Home-Delivered and Congregate Meal 2019 Statistics
The Council reviewed the 2019 comparison. The Congregate dining numbers are lower
than 2018 with an increase in Home-Delivered Meals. In the early part of 2019, there were
10 closures

REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
Taste testing of Reinhart products.
ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE
The New Richmond Senior Center Board will be hosting their Spring Fling in April.
The ADRC will be hosting the Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon in May and invites will be sent
out.
The ADRC will hosting a Burger Night fundraiser for the Secret Santa Program on Monday, April
21 at the Parkside Restaurant in Hammond from 5 pm 8 pm.

Council Chair Brunner adjourned the meeting at 11 a.m.

The date of the next meeting will be Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 10 a.m. at the Glenwood City
Senior Center.
