CALL TO ORDER
The Nutrition Advisory Council Vice-Chair Peterson-Mick called the meeting to order at 10 a.m.

attended remotely Randi Hanson, Aging and Disability Resource Center Preventative/Nutrition
Program Coordinator; Brandy Zeuli, Aging and Disability Resource Center Outreach Coordinator;
Alternates: Liz Kreibich, River Falls and Bonnie Richert, Hudson.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
1. Nutrition Advisory Council Regular Meeting February 26, 2020

The Council members reviewed the minutes from the February 26, 2020
Chair Peterson-Mickshl asked if there were any changes, additions or corrections. A
motion was made to accept the minutes by Council member Deja; seconded by Council
member Quale; motion carried.
RESULT: APPROVED
PUBLIC COMMENT
Vice-Chair Peterson-Mickschl opened the floor for public comment.
There was no comment presented.
BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Home-Delivered Meal Program Statistics and Trends by Brandy Zeuli, Outreach Coordinator
Outreach Coordinator Zeuli informed the NAC that there are currently over 200
participants on the Home-Delivered Meal Program (HDM). The state modified the
guidelines during COVID, causing the numbers to increase.
Zeuli shared she is completing her home visits via phone.
Zeuli mentioned that when COVID first started, there was in increase in the number of
volunteers. She is finding that many are starting to go back to work, so she is starting to
recruit more volunteers.
Zeuli explained that the emergency meal kits are being ordered and disbursed to
individuals. The Emergency meal kits will be provided to each Home-Delivered Meal
participant to cover when the ADRC is not able to deliver due to weather.

2. Elderly Nutrition Program Menu Suggestions and Recommendations
A variety of comments were shared regarding the meals from the last menu cycle.
Hanson reviewed some new products with the Council members that will be put into the
menu rotation over time.

3. Senior Nutrition Meal Site Reopening Phases
Beckman explained a plan has been submitted to Public Health for review. Unfortunately,
it looks like the sites may not open until sometime in 2021.

4. Home-Delivered and Congregate Meal 2019 Statistics
The Council reviewed the 2019 2020 six-month comparison. The Congregate dining
numbers are lower than 2019 with an increase in Home-Delivered Meals. In 2020, the
Nutrition Program experienced many changes due to weather and COVID.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
5. Hudson Senior Center Update and Future Plans
Hanson explained Christian Community Home contacted the ADRC regarding the need to
utilize the current space where the site is located for residents and visitors. ADRC Aging
staff have begun the search for a new location.

ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE
The United Way Food Pantry will be expanding to Baldwin and Somerset in October
ADJOURN
Council Chair Brunner adjourned the meeting at 11 a.m.
