HomeMy WebLinkAbout03-20-2018 Citizen Review Panel Minutes Meeting Minutes St. Croix County Citizen Review Panel March 20, 2018 11:30 am Family Resource Center, 857 Main Street Baldwin WI CALL TO ORDER 11:30 am ROLL CALL : Paula, Sue, Marla, Jamie, Bull, Sunshine, Lindsey, Ben, Bill, and new member Jill Ross from Turningpoint. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. Feb. 20, 2018 meeting minutes were approve as read. PUBLIC COMMENT: None BUSINESS ITEMS: 1. Work Plan for 2018 finalized. (Paula L.) Action Plan for 2018 a. Continue to share a booth with BACA at the St. Croix. County Fair. b. Put up Child Abuse Prevention displays for the month of April. c. Send two to three members to the National CRP conference. d. Print the new CRP brochure. e. Show support for CPS staff additions. f. Attend HHS board meetings if CPS issues are on the agenda. g. Pay for more BACA brochures and give to families. h. Invite CPS’s workers to our panel meetings to share caseloads and current issues. i. Discuss supporting a community event; such as a speaker on Human Trafficking j. Attend the state CRP meeting in August. k. Look at community connections and working with school staff. 2. Budget update: Postponed until next month. 3. Child Abuse Prevention month displays for April: supplies ordered, locations set. Sue to put up and take down. Displays will be put up at: Roberts Library, Hammond Library, Baldwin library, Vibrant Health clinic River Falls, Government Center Hudson, YMCA Hudson, Centre, Westfields clinic, Grace Place, Five Loaves food shelf and St. Croix County Service’s center in New Richmond. WIC clinics in Hudson, Baldwin and New Richmond. 4. National Conference; who is attending? Ben is unable to attend. Sunshine and Jill will see if they can attend. Sue will also see if she can attend. The panel decided we could send three panel members to the conference. Registration is due the end of April. Payment due early May. 5. Brochure updates. Resources/phone numbers to add. The panel decided to use Turningpoint’s phone number and text number on the brochure. Sue will make the changes and will order the brochures. 6. Social worker to speak at a meeting. Ben will ask John Bretl if he will come and talk at our next meeting and Aubrey to come in May. 7. CRP County Fair booth: BACA members to staff. .Panel members approved to pay for brochures for BACA and the fair booth fee. Sue will mail in a check for the fair booth. The invoice for the BACA brochures will be turned in to CPS supervisor to get paid. REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENGA ITEMS: Jill will share her school presentation. John Bretl Foster Care Coordinator will give an update. ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE Ben; the board approved two new CPS positions, an assessment worker and a foster care coordinator. They are also contracting with Family Pathways to help with supervised visits and transportation. Marla: Family Resource Center is hiring an additional parent educator. Their fundraiser event is April 15th at Ready Randy’s. Baldwin-Woodville high school will do a brief mental health screening on all high school students this week. Paula: County board elections are on April 3rd. She is running for Pierce Co. supervisor. Sunshine and Bull: The Great Rivers chapter has helped 115 children. They would like the social workers to give their brochures to the families they work with. Lindsey: Took the mental health first aid training. Roberts Congregational Church is having a presentation on this on April 14th from 8 to noon. Jill: She plans to focus on special ed. population of students. She plans to give a presentation at all the schools in the county. Sue: Will contact Casting Light coalition to see if they want to attend our meetings. DATE OF NEXT MEETING: April 17. 11:30 am. Proposed closed session pursuant to Wis. Stat. 19.85(1) (f) to consider and discuss the medical, social, and personal history of an abused and/or neglected minor child. Did not need to go into closed session. Case review. Reconvene into open session Panel may take action under discussion on in closed session and/or report action taken today in closed session, if any. ADJOURN THE MEETING 1:10pm A quorum of the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors (County Board) may be present at this meeting. Therefore, this notice also serves as notice of a meeting of the County Board for the purpose of obtaining information relating to subjects listed above for use at future County Board meetings.
