HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-20-2018 Citizen Review Panel Minutes Meeting Minutes St. Croix County Citizen Review Panel November 20, 2018 11:30 am Family Resource Center, 857 Main Street Baldwin WI CALL TO ORDER: Sue Lindberg ROLL CALL: Bill Scholz, Sunshine, Phoenix, Emma Field, Marla Butler, Kelli Larson, Keith Anderson, Sandra Gordon, Paula Lugar, Sue Lindberg APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. October 16, 2018 meeting minutes were approved as read. PUBLIC COMMENT: None BUSINESS ITEMS 1. New Member Introductions: Two new members joined the panel. They are Keith Anderson, Pastor at Zion Lutheran Church, Woodville WI. And Kelli Larson school counselor for the Baldwin- Woodville school district. 2. Approval of the By-laws: Our CRP By-laws were approved. 3. Interim State CRP Coordinator is Emily Erickson. No state coordinator calls until Jan. 2019 4. Case Review draft: Phoenix will send to Sue what she received at the National Conference as a guide for us to look at. Sue will then send out to members to review. 5. Lead: Phoenix to begin Jan. 2019. Phoenix is too busy with her state BACA duties to take on the leadership role. Other panel members were asked and none felt they could take this on at this time. Sue will continue as lead for now. 6. Input from CPS social workers for meeting date, time and place to make it easier for them to attend. Discussion held with panel members about meeting date, time and place. Our next meeting in Jan. will be at Turningpoint in New Richmond. 7. Work Plan for 2019 is; a. Recruitment of new members: We have 4 new members. Marla will set up a Gmail email account for panel members. b. Facebook Page Promotion and information. Phoenix and Bill are in charge of this. Phoenix is requesting assistance in getting information to be posted on our page. c. Invite New State Coordinator to meeting once hired. d. Case Review updates by CPS social workers provided quarterly. Bill gave an update on three of his cases to the panel today in closed session. e. Plan an event for National Child Abuse Prevention month in April. REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENGA ITEMS: Draft a case review form. Start to plan community event for April. Work on information for our facebook page. Set schedule for CPS case reviews. ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE: Panel members Paula: Pierce County is applying for Family Treatment Court grant. Marla: Handed out Five for Families posters. Drug Court is now called Treatment court. Emma: Hopes to start a youth support group in the spring. Phoenix and Sunshine; are very busy with their state BACA duties. Bill: CPS social workers are very busy. Many cases due to drug use. (mostly Meth.) Will have one CRP member program spotlight per meeting. th th DATE OF NEXT MEETING: Jan. 1511:30 at the Turnigpoint house at 337 E 5 Street New Richmond. Proposed closed session pursuant to Wis. Stat. 19.85(1) (f) to consider and discuss the medical, social, and personal history of an abused and/or neglected minor child. Case review. Panel members went into closed session to discuss three of Reconvene into open session Panel may take action under discussion on in closed session and/or report action taken today in closed session, if any. No action was necessary. ADJOURN THE MEETING 1: 15 pm. A quorum of the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors (County Board) may be present at this meeting. Therefore, this notice also serves as notice of a meeting of the County Board for the purpose of obtaining information relating to subjects listed above for use at future County Board meetings.
