HomeMy WebLinkAbout02-19-2019 Citizen Review Panel Minutes Meeting Minutes St. Croix County Citizen Review Panel February 19th, 2019 11:30 AM Family Resource Center, 857 Main Street Baldwin WI CALL TO ORDER: 11:30 am by Sue Lindberg ROLL CALL: Emma, Marla, Paula, Sunshine, Phoenix, Nicole, Keith , and Sue APPROVAL OF MINUTES: January Meeting Minute were approved as read. January 15, 2019 PUBLIC COMMENT: None BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Budget Update: Currently we have $7,134.00 in the CRP budget. 2. Annual Report/State Coordinator: any updates: New State CRP Coordinator is Alicia Breninger, Child Protection Services Policy Specialist. Email: Alicia.Breninger@wisconsin.gov State Coordinator phone calls this year will be April 17, July 24th and Oct. 23rd at 9 am. Nicole Fisher will send Sue the report form. We will fill out the Annual report at our next meeting in March. Phoenix, Sunshine and Emma are interested in attending the National CRP Conference in June. Registration is now open. 3. Present at HHS board meeting in March: Sue, Phoenix and Sunshine will present on the CRP at the March 13tth HHS board meeting at 5pm at the Government Center is Hudson. Sue will share with the board members what the CRP has done last year and our plans for this year. Sunshine and Phoenix will cover the brochure and the Hands Around the Courthouse upcoming event. 4. Discussion and approval to order supplies for April Child Abuse Prevention Month displays and event. The panel members approved a budget of $1500.00 to order supplies for April Child Abuse prevention month displays. Sue will set up the displays. 5. Hands around the Courthouse Event :Updates from subcommittees, Promotion: Have flyer ready to show panel. Marla, Jamie. Emma will work on a flyer. Marla will take care of contacting media. Logistics: Ben, Sue, Jill: Speakers so far are: Fred Johnson Director of HHS, Turningpoint will have a speaker and BACA will have a speaker. Sue will contact Brandie Hart about speaking for the Sheriff’s dept. Food vendors: Emma and Phoenix will work on getting food trucks for the event. Tables set up in Gov. Center that day: CRP table up all month. Turningpoint. Family Resource Center, CPS staff, Victim Witness and possibly Casting Light coalition. (Sue will contact Casting Light). REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENGA ITEMS 1. Fill out 2018 Annual Report. Finalize plans for Hands Around the Courthouse event for April 16th. Update on HHS board presentation. ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE: Marla; FRC is having two new staff members start in March and one is leaving. Fund raising event Reach for the Stars on April 12 at Camp St. Croix. She shared a phone scam event. Having tracking capabilities on your child’s phone is very important. Emma: we are unable to have our next meeting at TurningPoint due to all staff attending a day at the Capital. Sunshine; BACA is unable to staff the booth at the Fair for the panel this year. Nicole: One CPS SW retiring in March. They are interviewing for her replacement. CPS workers are very busy dealing with cases involving Meth, Heroin and alcohol abuse affecting families. Phoenix; BACA is having a Community Outreach event in Washington Co.MN on April 23rd. She asked if the panel could assist with food expenses. There is a CHAT group now formed in New Richmond. She plans to attend the next meeting. Paula: Ron Schmidt, Pierce Co. board member talked with Ben about forming a CRP. Keith; Woodville Chief of Police is speaking at their church on Sunday on internet scams. DATE OF NEXT MEETING March 19th 2019 at the Family Resource Center in Baldwin. Proposed closed session pursuant to Wis. Stat. 19.85(1) (f) to consider and discuss the medical, social, and personal history of an abused and/or neglected minor child. Case review. None reviewed. Reconvene into open session Panel may take action under discussion on in closed session and/or report action taken today in closed session, if any. ADJOURN THE MEETING: at 1:00 pm. A quorum of the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors (County Board) may be present at this meeting. Therefore, this notice also serves as notice of a meeting of the County Board for the purpose of obtaining information relating to subjects listed above for use at future County Board meetings.
