2 BYLAWS - APPOINTMENT OF BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MEMBERS

8 WHEREAS, on June 7, 2011, the County Board Appointed Patrick Thompson as the first
9 County Administrator of St. Croix County; and
10
11 WHEREAS, the appointment changed the method for appointing members to boards and
12 commissions from the County Board Chair making the appointment to the County Administrator
13 making the appointment; and
14
15 WHEREAS, the County Board Rules and Bylaws were previously amended to reflect the
16 change in the method of appointment; and
17
18 WHEREAS, the method of appointment to the Board of Adjustment was omitted.

20 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors that
21 County Board Rules and Bylaws, Article IX - Board of Adjustment - Section A.3.a. be amended
22 as follows (additions shown underlined; deletions shown struck through):

24 a. The Board of Adjustment shall consist of 5 members - at least 1 but not more than 2
25 supervisors and the balance citizen members. The Chair of the County Administrator
26 Beams shall appoint the members with the approval of the County Board for terms of
27 3 years beginning on the date of the first Board of Adjustment meeting following
28 County Board approval at its May meeting each year. If members cannot be
29 appointed at the May County Board meeting, members shall serve until their
30 successors are appointed. The terms shall be staggered so that one or two terms
31 expire each year.
