8 WHEREAS, pursuant to Wisconsin Statutes sec. 23.09 (12), the Wisconsin Department of
9 Natural Resources (DNR) may provide grants to counties for fish management and game management
10 projects on the condition that the state's share does not exceed one-half of the actual cost of a project; and
11
12 WHEREAS, these grants are provided by the DNR under Wisconsin Administrative Code sec.
13 NR 50.14 as County Conservation Aids Program grants; and
14
15 WHEREAS, annually St. Croix County has participated in this grant program; and
16
17 WHEREAS, the St. Croix County Land and Water Conservation Department, the St. Croix
18 County Sportsman's Alliance and the DNR desire to use a County Conservation Aids Program grant in
19 2012 to construct a parking lot at the headwaters of the Kinnickinnic River in Section 36, Town of
20 Warren; and

22 WHEREAS, the cost to construct the parking lot is $3976.00; and
23
24 WHEREAS, the parking lot is identified, the total cost of construction of $3976.00 is shown as an
25 expense and the grant of $1988.00 is shown as a revenue in the 2012 Land and Water Conservation
26 Department budget; and

28 WHEREAS, the St. Croix County Land and Water Conservation Department requests
29 authorization to apply for a County Conservation Aids Program grant in the amount of $1988 to pay for
30 one-half of the cost to construct the parking lot.

32 THEREFORE, be it resolved by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors that the Director of
33 the Land and Water Conservation Department is authorized to apply for a grant under the County
34 Conservation Aids Program in the amount of $1988.00 to pay one-half of the cost of constructing a
35 parking lot at the headwaters of the Kinnickinnic River in Section 36, Town of Warren.

37 FURTHER, be it resolved that St. Croix County shall comply with State rules for the County
38 Conservation Aids Program and all conditions of the grant, and understands it may perform force account
39 work.

The grant proposal was Incorporated in the LWCD 2012 budget with expenses of $3976.00 and grant
revenue of $1988.00 therefore, there is no fiscal impact as this was anticipated in the 2012 budget.
