RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO JOIN THE STATEWIDE
PUBLIC SAFETY INTEROPERABLE COMMUNICATION
SYSTEM FOR ST. CROIX COUNTY
1 WHEREAS, Wisconsin Statute § 323.29(5) requires the Wisconsin Department of
2 Military Affairs to provide grants to local units of government for public safety interoperable
3 communication system upgrades; and

5 WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs refers to the statewide public
6 safety interoperable communication system as WISCOM, and the upgraded 7/800 MHz system
7 as WISCOM 800; and

9 WHEREAS, Wisconsin Statute § 323.29(5)(b)2 requires that, to be eligible for a grant,
10 the local unit of government's governing body shall submit a resolution or other written
11 commitment indicating its intent to join the replacement statewide public safety interoperable
12 communication system when it becomes available; and

14 WHEREAS, in addition, Wisconsin Statute § 323.29(5)(b)2 requires that, to be eligible
15 for a grant, the local unit of government's governing body shall submit a resolution or other
16 written commitment indicating the local unit of government's intent to spend its own funds in an
17 amount equal to 20% of the total grant awarded.

19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of
20 Supervisors that St. Croix County is hereby committed to joining the replacement statewide
21 public safety interoperable communication system as an interoperable user when it becomes
22 available and will spend its own funds for 20% of the total of any grant awarded.
