Others present remotely were Adam Kastonek, St. Croix County Public Information Officer. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1.Council on Aging and Disabilities Regular Meeting June 11, 20218:30 AM Council Chair Ostness asked if there were any corrections, additions, or deletions to the minutes. Chair Ostness approved the minutes as written. RESULT: ACCEPTED PUBLIC COMMENT Council Chair Ostness opened the floor for public comment. Seeing none he proceeded with the meeting. BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Election of Council on Aging and Disabilities Vice Chair Council Chair Ostness opened the floor for nomination for a Vice Chair. Council member Burri nominated Council member Maureen Brunner. Chair Ostness asked if there were any other nominations. The nomination was seconded by Supervisor Feidler; motion carried. RESULT: APPROVED \[UNANIMOUS\] MOVER: Lois Burri, Council Member SECONDER: Bob Feidler, Supervisor AYES: Bob Feidler, Dave Ostness, Maureen Brunner, Amy Schneider, Bonnie Richert, Nancy Hable, Nancy E. Meyer, Lois Burri, Martha Mabis EXCUSED: Cathy Leaf, Roxanne M. Wakeen 2. Introduction of the New Elder Benefit Specialist Brad Beckman, ADRC Administrator, introduced the new Elder Benefit Specialist, Tyler Harrison. Harrison provided the Council with background on her work history and that she is looking forward to helping consumers in St. Croix County. RESULT: DISCUSSED 3. Deer Park, Hudson, New Richmond Nutrition Program Presentations Ellie Weber, Deer Park Nutrition Program Manager; Melissa Wright, Hudson Nutrition Program Manager; and Patty Shatswell, New Richmond Program Manager presented information regarding activities held at the site and the nutrition program. Discussion followed. RESULT: DISCUSSED 4. COVID-19 Update HHS Director Rohret presented a COVID update to the Council members and the dashboard that can be found on the County website. Adam Kastonek, St. Croix County Public Information Officer reviewed the current mask advisory. Discussion followed. RESULT: DISCUSSED 5. Aging and Disability Resource Center Financial Reports Fay Strenke, HHS Fiscal Manager, reviewed the July 2021 Financial Report with the Council. She mentioned that the donation amount is currently running higher than budgeted. Discussion followed. RESULT: DISCUSSED 6. Hudson Senior Center Relocation Administrator Beckman presented the Dining Center Relocation Approval Form regarding the relocation of the Hudson Senior Center. Council member Hable made a motion to approval the relocation; Council member Richert seconded the motion; motion carried. Wakeen EXCUSED: Cathy Leaf REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS Administrator Beckman suggested having Peter Kilde from WestCAP and Sandy Hackenmueller, St. Croix County Health Center present at the September Council meeting. ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE Supervisor Feidler informed the Council the Elder Abuse Conference will be held on Tuesday, September 14th at Faith Community Church from 8 am - 12 pm. The even will be open to the public. Health and Human Services Director Rohret announced that the next Health and Human Services Board meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 18th in Hudson in the County Board Room of the Government Center starting at 5 pm. ADJOURN The Council meeting was adjourned at 9:55 am DATE OF NEXT MEETING The date of the next Council meeting will be Friday, September 10, 2021 at 8:30 am at the St. Croix County Services Center.
