Others present were Kristin Newton, ADRC Administrator; Bob Rohret, HHS Director; Fay
Strenke, HHS Fiscal Manager; Ken House and Scott Counter with the New Richmond
VFW.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
1.Council on Aging and Disabilities Regular Meeting May 13, 20228:30 AM
Council Chair Ostness asked if there were any corrections, additions, or deletions to the
minutes. Chair Ostness approved the minutes as written.
RESULT: ACCEPTED
PUBLIC COMMENT
Chair Ostness opened the floor for public comment, hearing none, he proceeded with the
meeting.
BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Aging and Disability Resource Center Financial Reports
Fay Strenke, HHS Fiscal Manager, reviewed the financial report from May 2022. She
noted the state grant funds are starting to come in now, but are still at least a month
behind. The revenue and operation costs are in line with the projected budget.
Discussion followed.

2. Presentation on Freedom Park Center by Ken House, VFW
Ken House, VFW, provided the Council members with handouts regarding the Freedom
Park Center project. Discussed project time lines and resources that will be available at
Freedom Park Center for Veterans and the community as a whole. Discussion followed.

3. Presentation of the 2021 Health and Human Services Annual Report
HHS Director Rohret reviewed the 2021 Health and Human Services Annual Report.
Rohret pointed out information specific to the ADRC and discussed the narrative and
statistical data included in the report. Discussion followed.

4. COVID-19 Presentation
Rohret reviewed the changes to the COVID-19 dashboard that can be found on the
County website. Currently St. Croix County is currently at a medium level. Vaccinations
and testing are still being provided at the St. Croix County Services Center through
Public Health.

REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
Council Chair Ostness asked if there were any requests for future agenda items. Some
suggestions were a presentation by Department of Vocational Rehabilitation and the program
on Order of Service; presentation by WestCAP and a presentation by Family Resource Center.
ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE
HHS Director Rohret informed the Council there will be a luncheon on June 24 with Family
Resource Center and families working with Children's Services. There will be childcare available
and a meal available for families with children under the age of 5.
HHS Director Rohret mentioned the Mental Health Symposium that was held on Wednesday,
June 8 at Northwood College was well attended.
HHS Director Rohret mentioned that virtual options will no longer be available after this month,
so attendance will need to be in person.
ADRC Administrator Newton informed the Council that Wednesday, June 15 is World Elder
Abuse Awareness Day and on Friday, June 17 will be the Community wide Annual Senior Picnic.
Newton also mentioned that the Roberts Senior Nutrition Program will be transitioning to a
restaurant model on July 5th with days of service changing to Tuesday and Thursday. The
Woodville Senior Nutrition Program transitioned to a catered option along with Glenwood City
and Baldwin.

The date of the next meeting will be Friday, August 12, 2022 in New Richmond at the St. Croix
County Services Center.
