Others present virtually were Bonnie Edlund, Adult Protection Case Manager. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1.Council on Aging and Disabilities Regular Meeting September 9,20228:30 AM Vice Chair asked if there were any corrections, additions, or deletions to the minutes. A motion to approve the minutes was made by Council member Mabis and seconded by Council member Richert; motion carried. RESULT: APPROVED \[UNANIMOUS\] MOVER: Martha Mabis, Council Member SECONDER: Bonnie Richert, Council Member AYES: Cathy Leaf, Maureen Brunner, Amy Schneider, Bonnie Richert, Nancy Hable, Lois Burri, Martha Mabis EXCUSED: Paul Adams, Dave Ostness, Nancy E. Meyer, Roxanne M. Wakeen PUBLIC COMMENT Council Vice-Chair Brunner opened the floor for public comment. Hearing none, she proceeded with the meeting. BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Aging and Disability Resource Center Financial Reports HHS Fiscal Manager Strenke reviewed the September finances. Currently the Nutrition Programs has started - having to use ARPA funds currently to cover the additional costs for catered meals and increase cost for raw food. RESULT: DISCUSSED 2. Introduction of New Adult Protection Social Workers and Presentation ADRC Administrator Newton introduced the four Adult Protection Case Managers - Paige Axley, Hayley Setzler, Tara Fick and Bonnie Edlund. Paige and Tara were the most recent additions to the team and Bonnie will be retiring at the end of the year. Edlund and Setzler provided a presentation on Adult Protective Services. Discussion followed. RESULT: DISCUSSED 3. Elderly Nutrition Program Updates ADRC Administrator Newton informed the Council we are currently working on 2023 contracts and rates. Newton provided the Council an update on the Hammond/Roberts Senior Center that transitioned to a restaurant model. She mentioned that numbers have increased and participants are enjoying the location and choice of meal. Newton provided updates regarding Hudson and New Richmond Elderly Nutrition Programs and possible future partnerships. She spoke about Glenwood City, Woodville and Baldwin meals with the new caterers. Discussion followed. RESULT: DISCUSSED REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS Council Vice-Chair Brunner asked if there were any requests for future agenda items. A suggestion was to have information on phishing scams. ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE HHS Director Rohret provided the Council with information regarding COVID vaccine updates and recent FDA approvals. Rohret also mentioned that the dashboard numbers have not changed much since last month. The flu season is projected to be worse than in past season, Public Health is providing Flu Shots as well as COVID vaccines and boosters. Rohret announced that a new Behavioral Health Supervisor has been hired. The 2023 Budget will be going to the County Board of Supervisors for approval. The HHS Board has a new medical advisory. ADRC Administrator Newton mentioned that the Monster Mash Bingo Bash will be on Friday, October 28 at the Roberts Park Building. ADJOURN Council Vice-Chair Brunner adjourned the meeting at 10 am. DATE OF NEXT MEETING The date of the next meeting will be Friday, November 11, 2022 in New Richmond at the St. Croix County Services Center.
