APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1.Council on Aging and Disabilities Regular Meeting October 14, 20228:30 AM Chair Ostness asked if there were any corrections, additions, or deletions to the minutes. Chair Ostness approved the minutes as written. RESULT: ACCEPTED PUBLIC COMMENT Council Chair Ostness opened the floor for public comment. Hearing none, he proceeded with the meeting. BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Aging and Disability Resource Center Financial Reports HHS Fiscal Manager Strenke reviewed the October 2022 fiscal report. She mentioned that the ADRC grant dollars have been received based on the current claims, however the grant dollars for the Aging programs is a bit behind. Discussion followed. RESULT: DISCUSSED 2. 85.21 Specialized Transportation Assistance 2023 Grant Application Amy Roemhild, ADRC Community Services Coordinator, reviewed a power point presentation regarding 85.21 Specialized Transportation Assistance 2023 Grant Application. Roemhild reviewed the projects that will be funded through the grant dollars. Discussion followed. A motion to approve the 2023 Grant Application was made by Supervisor Leaf; seconded by Council member Hable; motion carried. Meyer, Lois Burri, Roxanne M. Wakeen, Martha Mabis 3. Aging and Disability Resource Center Caregiver Support Program Presentation ADRC Caregiver Support Coordinator provided the Council members with an overview of the caregiver programs she oversees and her job responsibilities. She explained that she works closely with and collaborates with the Dementia Care Specialist. She reviewed the grant programs available to caregivers. Discussion followed. RESULT: DISCUSSED REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS Council Chair asked if there were any requests for future agenda items. There were no suggestions voiced at the time, so Chair Ostness informed the Council they could reach out to ADRC Administrator Newton or himself at any time. ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE Kristin Newton, ADRC Administrator, provided the Council with a flyer regarding the Community Conversation events regarding the 2024-2028 State Dementia Plan. Newton announced the Hudson Senior Nutrition Site will be moving to Agave 2 GoGo on December 5 for meals and activities. Bob Rohert, HHS Director, thanked the Veterans - Supervisor Adams. He informed the Council that the 2023 Budget was approved. Rohert mentioned that Newton will be providing an orientation to the County Board in December regarding the ADRC and programs. ADJOURN Council Chair Ostness adjourned the meeting at 9:53 am. DATE OF NEXT MEETING The date of the next meeting will be Friday, December 9, 2022 in New Richmond at the St. Croix County Services Center.
