Criminal Justice Subcommittee of the Community Justice Collaborating Council Regular Meeting August 14, 2018 11:00 AM Minutes were accepted as presented by Judge Nordstrand. RESULT: ACCEPTED PUBLIC COMMENT BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Review Membership of Subcommittee Mike O'Keefe, CJCC Coordinator gave an update on the membership for the Criminal Justice Subcommittee and recommended adding the Jail Captain and a representative from the Chiefs of Police Association. Sheriff Knudson will follow with the Police Chiefs to see who wants to be part of this subcommittee. Judge Nordstrand states as part of the normal protocol we should make regular invitations to local legislators to attend these meetings if available. RESULT: DISCUSSED 2. Day Report Center - January 2019 Report Deputy Mike Kahler, Day Report Center (DRC) gave an update on statistical data for January 2019. Discussion was held and a request was made to identify statistics on accommodations made for individuals involved in testing at the DRC. The top three drugs of choice continue to be alcohol, marijuana, and methamphetamine. RESULT: DISCUSSED 3. Review Goal & Objectives of Subcommittee Discussion was held on goals and objectives of this subcommittee and suggestions made were; oversight of mental health in our jail population, the Day Report Center and veterans criminal justice issues. Fred Johnson, Chair, CJCC Mental Health Subcommittee should be asked to give an update on mental health issues they are working on in their group. RESULT: DISCUSSED 4. Subcommittee Meeting Schedule for 2019 The proposed schedule for this subcommittee for 2019 was reviewed. RESULT: DISCUSSED REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE ADJOURN The meeting was adjourned by Judge Nordstrand at 12:50 p.m. DATE OF NEXT MEETING Tuesday, April 9, 2019, 8:00 a.m., Government Center - room 1216
