BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Review Transit Funding Opportunities with the State of Wisconsin
Steve Hirshfeld, WisDOT Public Transit Program Manager, discussed Federal and State
public transit funding programs. Hirshfield discussed the requirement that if a
government body is planning on requesting available transit funding and is looking to
provide transit services they must submit a letter of interest by January 31, 2020 to be
eligible for funding in 2021. The letter of interest does not commit the County to any
particular funding, nor does it guarantee transit funds will be provided by the State or
Federal entities in 2021.

2. Passenger Train Eau Claire to St. Paul Report
Chair Ostness and Ann Schell updated the Transit Committee on the status of the
passenger train process.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
3. Transit Providers Ridership Update
Various County Departments and local transportation providers shared rider numbers
with the Transit Committee.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
