St. Croix County Traffic Safety Commission meeting was held
October 16, 2002 at the Sheriff's Department in Hudson at
1:30PM.
Present were: Sgt. Brian Erickson, Buzz Marzolf, Dawn
Budrow, Jack Colvard, Doris Peterson, Dennis Johnson, Tim
Ramberg, Greg Helgeson, Charles Grant, Miles Wittig, Bob
Klanderman and Pam Dabruzzi
Meeting was called to order by Chairman Klanderman. Motion
to adopt agenda made, seconded and approved. Motion to
accept minutes of July 17, 2002 made and approved.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
- Chairman Klanderman asked Mr. Helgeson what the states
opinion was on Klanderman's request for a flip up sign on
Hwy. 63 to use during traffic slow downs. Mr. Helgeson
stated that the state doesn't want to put them up.
-Mr. Helgeson stated they are considering (3) way stops on
Hwy 12 and Hwy 65 in Roberts.
NEW BUSINESS:
-Mr. Helgeson gave a presentation on roundabouts including
a video.
ANNOUNCEMENTS AND CORRESPONDENCE
-Mr. Johnson discussed traffic fatalities in the state.
Statewide as of 10 -14 -02 there were 622 compared to 563 in
2001. St. Croix County has 18 so far.
-Mr. Johnson stated October and November are high car vs
deer traffic crash months.
-Mrs. Peterson stated they are giving presentations to
young people.
-Mr. Colvard states the Town of Hudson and Troy are looking
at forming First Responder Units.
Motion made and seconded to adjourn. Motion carried.
