HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-29-2018 980 Committee Minutes Minutes 980 COMMITTEE October 29, 2018 9:00 am Conference Room # 1216 1101 Carmichael Road, Hudson, Wisconsin Call to Order Chair Rohl called this meeting of the 980 Committee to order at approximately 9:00 a.m. Roll Call Member Attendance Present Assistant Corporation Counsel Liz Rohl-Chair Present Behavioral Health Administrator Steve Kirt-Vice Chair Division of Correction Supervisor Absent Mark Lemke Community Development Planning and Land Present Administrator Brett Budrow State of WI Supervised Release Specialist Present by Phone @ 9:00 Mick Chase Others in attendance: Natalie Volz Department of Corrections Division of Community Corrections, Recorder Colleen Linder Approval of Minutes: After review of the 980 Committee Oct. 15, 2018 minutes, a motion was made by Chair Rohl to approve the minutes as submitted and a second was made by Steve Kirt. A voice vote taken and minutes approved. Public Comment: No Public Comment Agenda Items: 1) Report on Residential Options in St. Croix County for Person on Supervised Release Chair Rohl and the group discussed the results of the review of the housing property option determined that both of the properties adjacent to the property have children at them, so this property is no longer an option. Moving on to the other properties the Committee previously reviewed and considered, there are 6 remaining options of which 4 have potential as 2 accessibility potential or would require extensive remodeling work. Of the four, there is one in Emerald and three in Baldwin. The Committee agreed the next best option would seem to be the property in Emerald, so Chair Rohl will have law enforcement check the adjacent properties for children. If the property checks out for no adjacent property concerns, Chair Rohl will reach out to Vice Chair Steve Kirt who will go out with a Social Worker to check the property for accessibility and take photos to share with the Committee and any potential vendors. a. If necessary, the committee may convene in closed session pursuant to Wis. Stats. §19.85(1)(f). No Closed Session 2) Discuss vendor options: If we determine this property has potential then we provide information to the State through Mick Chase who will work with the vendor. They will then discuss the additional upgrading necessary to meet the needs. This Committee will continue documenting the work done and properties considered. A report th. is due by Dec. 26 we will at least have something in the works. Since properties seem to be moving fast and some not even being listed, we may have to relook at working with a realtor if this property 3)Discuss law enforcement report/involvement: No additional information today. 4)980 Committee Meeting Schedule: Next meeting on Friday November 16, 2018 @ 9:00 a.m. in Room 1216, Hudson Government Center.
