Members present: Nancy Bieraugel, Daryl Standafer, Gerald Peterson, and Linda
Luckey. Absent: Tom O'Connell
Others present: Chuck Whiting, Administrative Coordinator
Agenda: A motion was made (Standafer, Luckey) and passed to adopt the agenda.
Date of next meeting: December 4, 2001
Minutes: A motion was made (Standafer, Peterson) and passed to approve the minutes
of the meeting of September 4, 2001.
Rules and By -Laws: Nothing to discuss
Statewide Legislative Issues: Nothing to discuss
Committee structure: The idea of possibly combining the Personnel Committee and the
Administration Committee was discussed.
The Committee discussed the idea of the County Board holding a strategic planning
session to set goals for the County. Chuck Whiting was directed to obtain information on
a possible meeting place and a facilitator.
Hudson Tourist Information Center: Chuck Whiting was directed to investigate the
rumor that the Tourist Information Center is to be moved to Menomonie.
Staff organization chart: Not discussed
Evaluate any positions that open before they are posted: After discussion, the Chair
asked Supervisor Standafer to write a statement that could be utilized by the Board Chair.
Lincoln County Resolution 60 -2001: Lincoln County sent us a resolution that asks the
Wisconsin Counties Association to implement a strategic planning process with the goals
of aligning itself with all member counties, and establishing a more positive relationship
with the Legislature. A motion was made (Luckey, Standafer) and passed to have
Corporation Counsel redraft it to be presented to the County Board.
LaCrosse County Resolution 120- 10 /01: LaCrosse County sent a resolution advocating
a term of 4 years for County Board Supervisors. There was no support from the
committee to recommend changing the term length from 2 to 4 yrs.
A motion was made (Standafer, Peterson) and passed to adjourn at 11:00 AM.
