APPROVAL OF MINUTES
1. Council on Aging and Disabilities – Regular Meeting – October 16, 2015 8:30 AM
Council Chair Ostness asked the Council if there were any changes, corrections, or
additions to the October 16, 2015 meeting minutes. With none noted, Chair Ostness
approved the minutes.
RESULT: ACCEPTED

No public comments were presented.
BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Financial Reports
Beata Haug, Fiscal Manager, provided Council with breakdown of the Aging programs
related to Home-Delivered, Caregiver, and Healthy Aging Programs. She presented the
overall projections as of September 2015. Both Aging and ADRC expenses are in line
for this time of year. She provided the Council with 3rd quarter projections for Aging
and ADRC. The Trust accounts for Nutrition and Transportation were reviewed. The
surplus for Aging and ADRC was discussed and the Council would like to see that
surplus stay with the Aging programs.

2. ADRC Outreach Coordinator
Brandy Zeuli, Outreach Coordinator, provided information on her educational
background. She provided the Council with details on the Home-Delivered Meal
Program. She explained the program guidelines and process. With her back ground in
dietetics, she is able to provide nutrition orientation. She recruits and orientates
volunteers for the Hudson and New Richmond Home-Delivered Meal Program. There
was a concern raised regarding the menus high in carbs and the need for more fresh
vegetables. This concern is part of the Aging Unit Plan for 2016-2018. Beckman
provided the Council with statistics from a recent survey completed by the state.

3. ADRC Caregiver Support Coordinator - presentation
Tara Murdzek, Caregiver Support Coordinator, introduced herself to the Council. She
provided the Council a synopsis of the National Family Caregiver Support Program
(NFCSP) and Alzheimer's Family Caregiver Program (AFCSP). Murdzek spoke on
Adult Day Respite program DayAway, locations and guidelines. She facilitates three
support groups throughout St. Croix County and the annual Caregiver Conference held in
September. Working with the Dementia Care Specialist on creating a resource book
specific to caregivers. She also coordinates the Healthy Aging Programs - Stepping On,
Living Well with Chronic Conditions, and Living Well with Diabetes.

4. Information & Assistance Update Sheet
Council members were provided a handout regarding the activities in October. There
were eight enrollments into ContinuUs and two disenrollments; there were two IRIS
enrollments and three disenrollments.
Beckman provided the Council with a breakdown of the living arrangement for the
members within the ContinuUs program - 202 live in assisted living, group homes or
community based residential facility; 25 reside in a nursing home; and 148 live within
their own home.

5. Transportation Requests (Out of County/Weekend)
There were no request presented.

6. Monster Mash Bash - wrap up
The event was held on Friday, October 30 at the Commons in New Richmond. The chili
and dessert was catered by Ready Randy's in New Richmond with entertainment by the
Hunyucks. The Senior Center Board Coalition meet and discussed options for next years
event.

REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
Project Search program through River Falls; speaker on burial funds or long term insurance;
different aspects of hospice
ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE
The New Richmond Senior Center group is continuing to look at options for the relocation. A
new van was purchased for the Hammond/Roberts area last month.
A letter was sent to the State to apply for a grant through 85.21 to conduct a feasibility study.
