Others present were County Board Chair Roger Larson, HHS Director Fred Johnson,

Beckman, Greater Wisconsin Alzheimer's Chapter Community Outreach Specialist
Sharlene Bellefeuille, and ADRC Program Support Specialist Renea Aeschliman.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
1. Council on Aging and Disabilities – Regular Meeting – November 20, 2015 8:30 AM
Council Chair Ostness asked the Council if there were any changes, corrections, or
additions to the November 20, 2015 meeting minutes. With none noted, Chair Ostness
approved the minutes.
RESULT: ACCEPTED

BUSINESS ITEMS
1. 85.21 Specialized Transportation Assistance Grant Application
Tracy Davis, Community Services Coordinator, presented information on the 85.21
Specialized Transportation Grant for 2016. The 85.21 grant is based on the number of
elderly and persons with disabilities residing in the county. Davis reviewed the projects
that will be funded by the grant dollars. There was discussion on funding for each of the
programs, number of riders, marketing of programs, and volunteer orientation. The
budget worksheet was reviewed and the information within the Council packet was
corrected. A motion was presented by Laurie Pelnar, seconded by Ron Kiesler; motion
carried.

2. Financial Reports
Beata Haug, HHS Fiscal Manager, reviewed the Financial handout in the Council packet.
The Aging and ADRC are right on target. There was a correction for the titling of a
couple of the columns.

3. Greater Wisconsin Alzheimer's Chapter presentation
Sharlene Bellefeuille, Community Outreach Specialist with Greater Wisconsin
Alzheimer's Chapter, present information regarding Alzheimer's disease. During the
New Richmond Walk to End Alzheimer's over $60,000 was raised and a percentage of
the money is used for research. Bellefeuille talked about how the Chapter works with the
ADRC and the Dementia Care Specialist.

4. Dementia Care Specialist Program Update
Nancy Abrahamson, Dementia Care Specialist, presented an update on the Remember
Play Projects. The plays were well attended and by a variety of individuals. The
committee is hoping to have the plays continue and brought to other communities that did
not host any the first time around.

5. Aging and Disability Resource Center At-a-Glance Report
Johnson explained the reason for the reports and when they will be presented to the
Council on a quarterly basis. He informed the Council if they had any questions or
concerns, to contact Brad or himself.

6. Information & Assistance Update Sheet
Council members were provided a handout regarding the activities in November. There
were ten enrollments into ContinuUs and two disenrollments; there were four IRIS
enrolllments and one disenrollments.

7. Transportation Requests (Out of County/Weekend)
There were none this month.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
8. New Richmond Senior Center
The New Richmond Senior Center Board toured the St. Croix County Health Center and
will be touring the Methodist Church. The New Richmond Nutrition Program Manager
retired and her last day will be December 31. The position request has been created and
will be posted.

9. 2016 ADRC events & COAD meeting dates
Council members reviewed the calendar of events and corrected the date of the meeting
in March and the location in September.

REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
Project Search was requested by George Zaske; ContinuUs to provide an update.
ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE
Chair Ostness provided the Council with a handout regarding voting for the elderly with
disabilities.
Beckman read a Thank You from a caregiver whose loved one attends DayAway.
Laurie Pelnar will be hosting an open house at her residence Christmas Eve.
A part-time position for a Disability Benefit Specialist has been posted and will hopefully be
filled by the first of the year.
