Transit Planning Subcommittee – Regular – July 31, 2015 10:00 AM RESULT: ACCEPTED 2. Transit Planning Subcommittee – Regular – August 14, 2015 2:00 PM RESULT: ACCEPTED PUBLIC COMMENT BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Update on August 14 Teleconference Kristen Sailer provided an overview of the August 14, 2015 teleconference regarding the transit planning grant. RESULT: DISCUSSED 2. Update on Transportation Services Survey Kristen Sailer provided information about Survey Monkey which would conduct an initial inventory survey to all providers in the area. Members provided input on the survey and added some questions. RESULT: DISCUSSED 3. Gateway Corridor/Hudson Peg Ganon reported the Gateway Corridor has yet to decide on a stop in Hudson. RESULT: DISCUSSED 4. Gateway Corridor Information Peg Gagnon discussed the Gateway corridor is looking at a Bus Rapid Transit route from Manning Avenue for the year 2022. Also under review is an early morning and a late evening bus route in Stillwater. RESULT: DISCUSSED 5. MTC Van Pool & Bus Connections Dave Ostness discussed information about the MTC vans and where they are located in this area. There are several in St. Croix County and the City of River Falls. Metro Vanpool is a regional program, subsidized by the Metropolitan Council to help meet the commuting needs of riders that reside or work in the seven-county metropolitan area. RESULT: DISCUSSED 6. Trans Link Ostness discussed the Transit Link program in the Twin Cities. It is a Dial-a-Ride small bus service for the general public, where regular route transit service is not available. Transit Link is for trips that can’t be accomplished on regular transit routes alone and may combine regular route and Transit Link service.
