County Library Planning Committee – Regular Meeting – April 14, 2016 3:30 PM Motion by Achterhof, 2nd by Coleman to accept the minutes. Carried unanimously. RESULT: ACCEPTED PUBLIC COMMENT None BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Introduction of Members RESULT: DISCUSSED 2. Review of Committee's Mission and Committee Makeup Review of mission and committee makeup. Mission Statement restated by Sjoberg as follows: St. Croix County envisions library services for all residents that ensure each individual has the opportunity and high quality resources to read, engage, work create, and learn. The County shall provide equitable funding that will allow libraries within the County to provide access to the tools required to meet the needs of the County's residents. Discussion regarding committee makeup. Motion by Sjoberg, 2nd by Achterhof to recommend to the County Board Chair that the constituency of this committee be so that there are two County Board members, three Library Directors with one from a large library, one from a medium library and one from a small library, and two citizen members at-large. Carried unanimously. RESULT: DISCUSSED 3. Update and Review of County Librarians' January 23, 2017 Meeting Notes from the January 23, 2017 St. Croix County Librarians' meeting were distributed. Review of upcoming events. Discussion regarding creating a Google calendar to include all events from each library and adding a link to the county's website to this calendar. Coleman asked if each county library could get a plat book. Discussion regarding grant availability from outside sources. RESULT: DISCUSSED 4. Short and Long Term Planning Goals Short and long term goals discussed. 1. Google Calendar containing all library events on one calendar and adding a link to the county's website to this calendar 2. Donation of plat books to each library 3. Present a 7 - 10 minute report to the County Board at the May 2, 2017 meeting 4. Sjoberg will talk to Finance Director Bob Mittet regarding potential grants 5. Committee constituency RESULT: DISCUSSED 5. Assignment for Next Meeting, Date, Time and Location to be Decided at Meeting September 14, 2017 at 3:30 in at Hazel Mackin Library in Roberts. RESULT: DISCUSSED REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS Miller requested any future agenda items be emailed to her. ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE Coleman announced Community Dinner and musician, Patsy O'Brien on March 7, 2017 at the Roberts Park Building.
