BUSINESS ITEMS
1. People First Wisconsin St. Croix County Chapter Presentation
Peg Scott shared she is looking to start a chapter in St. Croix County for People First Wisconsin. She
explained that she became interested in the People First Wisconsin due to her personal caregiver
experience. In order to form a chapter, there needs to be five individuals who are either disabled or a
caregiver of someone disabled. People First Wisconsin would be able to assist with advocating change
based on the concerns raised by the members.
People First Wisconsin was started by an individual who had cognitive delays and lived in numerous
institutions as a child. She became the voice for Special Olympics and learned that there are many
people who may need help in making change in their communities. The goal for People First is to come
together and advocate to make change in your community to build a healthier, independent, community
living.
2. Scope of Work Plan for Employment Trends and Issues for Individuals with Disabilities Subcommittee
After discussion regarding scope, the subcommittee decided to formulate a recommendation that will
go to the Council on Aging and Disabilities at the next meeting. The recommendation may include
how to utilize the current practices at the Aging and Disability Resource Center and piloting additional
