Health and Human Services Director.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes from the March 9, 2018 were reviewed; Chair Anderson approved the minutes as printed.
PUBLIC COMMENT
Chair Supervisor Anderson opened the floor for public comment. There was no public comment
presented.
BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Business Model for Individuals with Disabilities Access Presented by Division of Vocational
Rehabilitation
Division of Vocational Rehabilitation staff was not able to attend the meeting.
2. ADRC of Scope of Services Contract Pertaining to the Disability Benefit Specialist Program
Council members received a copy of the 2018 ADRC Scope of Services relating to the Disability
Benefits Counseling. It was discussed that the ADRC could take it upon themselves to add an additional
step when meeting with consumers regarding employment needs. Beckman has reached out the Quality
Assurance Specialist for our region and will be discussing with other ADRC leaders during the next
ADRC Connect meeting to see if St. Croix County could possibly pilot a program on enhancing a
section of the ADRC Scope of Service to focus on employment.
3. Recommendations Employment Trends and Issues for Individuals with Disabilities Subcommittee
It was discussed to make a recommendation to have bullet F within the ADRC of Scope of Services
Contract be expanded and enhance. It was also discussed to have the issue of transportation be
addressed with the Transit Subcommittee. A motion to enhance and expand the area F. Disability
Benefits Counseling, section 4, item f was made by Supervisor Ostness; seconded by Committee
member Pelnar; motion carried. A second motion to discuss the need for transportation for those
seeking employment be presented to the Transit Subcommittee was made by Committee member Zaske;
seconded by Committee member Schrieber; motion carried.
REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
Discuss outcome from the ADRC Connect meeting Brad will be attending
Disability Benefit Specialists
ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE
Employment First Conference will be held on May 22 in Wisconsin Dells.
