PUBLIC COMMENT Chair Supervisor Anderson opened the floor for public comment. There was no public comment presented. BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Benefit Specialist from Center for Independent Living for Western Wisconsin Employment Trends Beckman introduced Angela Brenna to the committee. Angela is a Work Incentive Benefit Specialist and works with individuals regarding their current benefit situation and how employment may affect these benefits. The majority of referrals come through Division of Vocational Rehabilitation and pays the $900 benefit analysis and two follow up meetings within the same calendar year. Chair Anderson asked how would this information be shared and marketed. Brenna mentioned getting the printed material out there and word of mouth are the best ways. Chair Anderson asked what is the biggest barrier for employment? Brenna mentioned it is the unknown of how the new income will affect benefits. There was discussion on how the ADRC would be able to help inform individuals of Work Incentive program through the Center for Independent Living Center. 2. Scope of Work Plan for Employment Trends and Issues for Individuals with Disabilities Subcommittee Chair Anderson tabled the agenda item since there is a need for more information before determining the focus.
