(Items may be taken in different order) * *Additions /Changes /Corrections SUBMITTED BY Brad Beckman, ADRC Manager COPIES TO County Board Office, County Clerk, News Media/ Notice Board, Committee Members Items for County Board approval must be submitted to the County Clerk's office by Wednesday morning preceding a County Board meeting. 01/04/2012 8:16 AM "Official" COUNCIL ON AGING AND DISABILTIES MEETING January 19, 2012 County Board Room, Government Center, Hudson, WI CALL TO ORDER: Council Chair Nelson called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. Pledge of Allegiance was said ROLL CALL: Supervisors: Al Schrank, Sharon Norton - Bauman, Buzz Marzolf, and Esther Wentz; Council members: Michelle Chevalier, Sue Nelson, Vera Grant, and Lois Burri. Also present: ADRC Manager Brad Beckman; Health and Human Services Administrator Fred Johnson; Administrative Assistant Renea Aeschliman; Caregiver Support Coordinator Nancy Abrahamson. Excused were Council members Ramsey Lee, Judy Belisle and Deb Brennan. ACTION OF PREVIOUS MINUTES: A motion to approve the minutes of the December 15 meeting was made by Supervisor Wentz; seconded by Council member Grant; motion carried. DATE OF NEXT MEETING: Thursday, March 15, 2012 in the County Board Room, Government Center in Hudson. Monthly Financial Report & Staffing Report: Council members received financial information for the ADRC and the Aging programs for the month of November 2011. See page 3 for details. Johnson pointed out the financials are the same as last month due to a 2 month lag. He spoke with Finance Director Michelle Pietrick regarding the lag and how financial reporting will be provided in the future. He mentioned the revenue is in excess of the expenses for both ADRC and Aging. Over 100% of revenue for the ADRC has been received due to the 100% time reporting. Johnson stated that approval from the state has been given to use any carry over dollars for office expansion. Beckman informed the Council a new Nutrition Program Manager has been hired for the Hudson Senior Nutrition Site — Kathy Svieven. 2. Nancy Abrahamson, Caregiver Support Coordinator presentation Abrahamson provided the Council with a handout detailing the Interfaith Volunteer Program, DayAway Adult Day Respite, National Family Caregiver Support Program ( NFCSP) and Alzheimer's Caregiver Support Program ( AFCSP). She spoke on the number of volunteers assisting with transportation to and from dialysis appointment, assisting individuals in their own home and other volunteer activities. She also touched base on DayAway Adult Day Respite program — locations, times and the funding. Abrahamson explained to the Council what the guidelines are in order for individuals to receive funding through either NFSCP or AFSCP and what services can and can not be funded. She also mentioned the statistics for the 2011 Health & Wellness Expo, support groups, regional Caregiver Conference and the Preventative Health classes. 3. The CASTLE update, Michelle Chevalier Council member Chevalier informed the Council that The CASTLE wrote a grant to the Knights of Columbus and have not heard yet whether or not any money will be awarded. 4. Aging Updates: a. Senior Center/Nutrition Program i. 2011 Area Agency on Aging Assessment for Elderly Nutrition Program report: Beckman provided a copy of the Assessment to the Council. He reported the assessment went well and there were no major deficiencies. ii. 2012 Nutrition Statistics: Beckman provided a handout to the Council with the 2011 Nutrition Statistics. He mentioned that the number of Congregate and Home - delivered meals have increased. b. Transportation Program Council on Aging & Disabilities Page 1 04/04/12 i. Transportation Requests Beckman presented transportation requests for Deer Park Senior Center to take a shopping trip to the Twin Cities. A motion to accept the transportation requests was made by Supervisor Schrank; seconded by Supervisor Marzolf; motion carried. 5. ADRC updates: a. Family Care Cap Services — update: Beckman handed out the most recent numbers from the Information & Assistance Specialists. Currently there are 90 individuals on the county waitlist. Since the Family Care Cap was put into place, there have been three disenrollments from CHP; eight enrollments into CHP- Family Care; six IRIS enrollments; one IRIS disenrollment. The Information & Assistance Specialists are currently working on individuals who were placed on the waiting list in November 2011. 6. Correspondence Beckman read thank you notes from individuals who received Secret Santa bags; families of those who attend DayAway for the Christmas party; and from the Bridge for Youth with Disabilities for supporting their fundraiser. He reported a memorial was given in memory of Cheryl Moilanen, former Somerset Nutrition Program Manager. Beckman handed out the AARP Tax Assistance flyer. Beckman invited the Council to the Woodville Senior Center for a pancake luncheon on Friday, January 20 at 12 p.m. 7. Possible Agenda Items for Next Meeting: Community Services Specialist Tracy Davis — Transportation Program Aging Unit Plan Assessment Kathy Solberg, Regional ADRC Quality Assurance Specialist, Regional Advisory Committee 8. Adiourn: A motion to adjourn was made by Supervisor Wentz and seconded by Supervisor Norton - Bauman; motion carried.
