Would reduce county match allocation by same amount. 4) Approve plan for spending $59,900 in COP CY2000 carryover funds for long term support service costs in CY2001. 5) Consider supporting Joint Finance Committee Biennial Budget proposal to increase county MA Waiver reimbursement rates and number of service slots available. 6) Review statewide report of waiting list for COP and COP- Waiver Programs. 7) Consider supporting Wis. Tech. proposal to provide low interest loans to people with disabilities to purchase new or used assistive technology. 8) Department on Aging report. Nursing Home Roll Call: eleven present, two excused and one absent. 246 -6991 Public Health Motion to adopt agenda by Mortensen, second by Boche; Motion carried. Family Planning WIC 246 -8263 Action on previous minutes noted an error in spelling of name. Information Other Departments Next Meetin g Date: Thursday, August 2, 2001 at 1 :30pm in board room 715/246 -6991 TDD at Human Services Complex, New Richmond 246 -8325 UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Enclosed is a copy of a letter from Governor McCallum in response to LTS committee's recommendation to increase state funding for programs delivering services to persons with developmental disabilities. NEW BUSINESS: Financial Report: Report of expenses for January through April 2001 was presented. All program expenses are on target. Note that Birth to Three Program and St. Croix Industries expenses are now on this report. LTS Planning Committee Meeting June 20, 2001 Page 2 Variance & Purchase Requests: NONE Brain Injury Funds available for CIP1B clients with brain injury. Application can be made to acquire $8000.00 in funding for this specific targeted client. Motion by Peterson; second by Woiske that application be made for this extra funding. Motion carried. COP CY2000 carryover funds: Year 2000 COP expenses were under budgeted amount. Ron Lockwood is recommending that we use the $59,900 for long term support service costs in Year 2001. Motion by Sumner, second by Gregerson to use the COP CY2000 funds of $59,900 for services in CY2001. Motion carried. Joint Finance Committee Biennial Budget proposal: Ron Lockwood shared an email from DAWN (Disability Advocate: Wisconsin Network) expressing support for the State Joint Finance Committee Biennial Budget Proposal. Motion by Wolske, second by Mortensen for this committee to show support of the budget proposal with a letter to Kitty Rhoades. Motion carried. FYI: toll free phone to Kitty Rhoades 888 - 529 -0030 if you'd like to call on your own. Statewide Waiting List Report: Ron Lockwood shared a report from Bureau of Aging & Long Term Care Resources. Basically it shows that the entire state has a problem with providing the necessary services to persons with disabilities. Wis. Tech Proposal: This is grant that the Bureau of Aging and Long Term Care Resources is preparing an application for. Part of that application process is to get letters of support from appropriate groups or agencies. Questions arose about the loans and risk, etc. Motion made to table the topic until the next meeting so there would be more time to read information about this by Boche; second by Peterson. Motion carried. Department on Aging Report: • Older Americans Act Increase of $14,018 in budget annually over the next 5 years. • Will receive $11,000 this year through Community Links Grant. This program acts as gatekeeper, training and outreach • 68 Farmers Market coupons have been given out so far. • May was the annual senior celebration — Silent auction raised $1,600+ • Golf benefit raised $3,690+ r LTS Planning Committee Meeting June 20, 2001 Page 3 Additional Business: Next meeting topics will include: Letter of support for WisTech Program Grant application for loans for persons with disabilities for purchasing assistive technology aids. Discussion of using county dollars to pay for persons on Family Support Program Waiting List. Will try to get Kitty Rhoades to attend our next meeting or one of the next meetings.
