Dear Mrs. Anderson:
The Division of Environmental Standards has reviewed a plan for sanitary sewer
and water main extensions and specifications for t{ater main extensions at
Somerset, I,lisconsin, submitted under the seal of Char'les R. Jones,
Professional Engineer, Cedar Corporation, I'lenomonie, l,{isconsin, and received
for approval on July 22, 1985.
The sewer and water main extensions will be installed on a new road from North
Highway "35" to Outlet Lot 17.
The sewage treatment facility to r,,h'ich this sewer extension is tributary is
maintaining appropriate effluent standards and there are no known significant
bypasses or overflows in the sewerage system. Therefore, pursuant to
NR I10.05(3)(a), l,lisconsin Administrative Code, the village is eligible for
sewer extension approval .
The engineer has requested that the specifications submitted be retained onfile with the Department as standard specifications for vrater main
instal lations in the Village of Somerset.
Standard specifications for sanitary sewer installations in Somerset are onfile with this Division.
The plan and specifications are hereby approved in accordance with
Section 144.04, Statutes, as attested by affixing on the plan and
specifications, the stamp of approval , Number 85-682, subiect to the following
condi ti ons .
l. That the watenrorks improvements be thoroughly disinfected and not be
placed in service until bacteriologically safe samples have been obtained in
accordance with NR Ill.23(3), I,lisconsin Administrative Code.
2. That a competent resident inspector be provided during the course of
construction.

3. That all stonn and other clear rater lncluding that from sump PumPs, roof
drains, clstern overfl ors and buil<llng foundati on dralns be excluded from
these approved srnitary serers, that street and building serers be laid in
such a minner as to mlnlmize entrance of grounduater and that the building
serers and drllns be installed to conform to the state plunbing regulatlons
(ILHR 82.04(8)(c), l{lsconsin Adrinistrative Code).
4. That the improyemnts be lnstalled ln accordance vith the plan, and the
above conditions, or subsequent essentlal and approved Dodifications.
this plan and speclfications has been reviered in rccordance rith
Section 144.04, llisconsin Statutes, for compliance rith Chapters NR 108,
NR ll0 and tlR lll, Uisconsin ldministrative Code, (or any other applicable
section of the tllsconsin Adninlstrative Code or Statutes *tich mqy be
specifically referenced ln the conditlons above). This letter should not be
construed as an approval for activities requiring approval under other
Statutes or by other federal , state or local agencies.
The Division neserves the rlght to order changes or additions should
conditions arise making this necessary.
In case installation of this improvement has not cormenced rithin tlro years
from date, this approyal shall become void. After tro years, therefone ' ner
application must be made for approval of thls or other plans before any
construction work is undertaken.
