QUALITY OF TIFFANY CREEK LOCATED IN THE TOWN OF GLENWOOD

St. Croix County, Wisconsin
WHEREAS, Tiffany Creek is an important resource used by the public for recreation and enjoyment of
natural beauty; and
WHEREAS, grants are available through the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to fund studies
and programs for stream protection: and
WHEREAS, the St. Croix County Land & Water Conservation Committee endorses the project and directs
the Department to apply for a Targeted Runoff Management Grant that addresses environmental concerns relating
to Tiffany Creek, including sediment and nutrient loading, fish habitat degradation and bank destabilization; and
WHEREAS, the St. Croix County Land & Water Conservation Department is qualified to carry out the
responsibilities of the stream protection project as described in the grant application.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOVED that the St. Croix County Land & Water Conservation Department
submit a grant application to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources under the Targeted Runoff
Management Grant program for $60,000; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that St. Croix County Board of Supervisor hereby authorizes the County
Director of Land, Water and Parks, acting under the direction of the Land & Water Conservation Committee, to
submit an application to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for financial aid for stream protection
purposes and sign documents; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that St. Croix County will comply with state and federal rules for the
program; meet the obligations of the stream protection grant project, including timely publication of the results,
and, along with the federal Natural Resources Conservation Service, Trout Unlimited, and the South Fork of the
Hay River Priority Watershed Project, provide 30% of in -kind contributions toward a stream restoration project on
Tiffany Creek.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that no County funds be expended in regard to this project.
