HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2004 (17) RESOLUTION FAVORING ALTERNATIVE DESIGN OPTION FOR CTH K St. Croix County BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Resolution No. 19 0004) St. Croix County, Wisconsin WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation has designed highway and connection improvements for STH 64 adjacent to and through St. Croix County property in west New Richmond; and WHEREAS, the design for the CTH K intersection currently reroutes CTH K in gradual curves back to the current CTH K on either side of the STH 64 intersection; and WHEREAS, the land on which this intersection is being created has until February, 2004 been owned by St. Croix County as part of the "County Farm "; and WHEREAS, St. Croix County has been discussing potential development plans for this property; and WHEREAS, St. Croix County has worked with WisDoT on an alternative design that consists of squaring up the west CTH K curve to allow for a possible future intersection design north of the CTH K and STH 64 intersection, heretofore known as the "alternative intersection" design; and WHEREAS, it is St. Croix County's understanding that should such a design be built at the County's request that all additional costs to the project created by this alternative design would be responsibility of St. Croix County; and WHEREAS, those costs have been preliminarily estimated by WisDoT to be approximately $214,000 THEREFORE, be it resolved that the St. Croix County Board approves and requests to WisDoT to incorporate the alternative intersection design into the construction design of STH 64 and forward all necessary correspondence and agreements to the County and FURTHER, be it resolved that the City of New Richmond as the entity to which this portion of CTH K was conveyed, also approve of this alternative intersection design.
