St. Croix County BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
Resolution No. 19 0004)
St. Croix County, Wisconsin
WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation has designed highway and
connection improvements for STH 64 adjacent to and through St. Croix County property
in west New Richmond; and
WHEREAS, the design for the CTH K intersection currently reroutes CTH K in gradual
curves back to the current CTH K on either side of the STH 64 intersection; and
WHEREAS, the land on which this intersection is being created has until February, 2004
been owned by St. Croix County as part of the "County Farm "; and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County has been discussing potential development plans for this
property; and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County has worked with WisDoT on an alternative design that
consists of squaring up the west CTH K curve to allow for a possible future intersection
design north of the CTH K and STH 64 intersection, heretofore known as the "alternative
intersection" design; and
WHEREAS, it is St. Croix County's understanding that should such a design be built at
the County's request that all additional costs to the project created by this alternative
design would be responsibility of St. Croix County; and
WHEREAS, those costs have been preliminarily estimated by WisDoT to be
approximately $214,000
THEREFORE, be it resolved that the St. Croix County Board approves and requests to
WisDoT to incorporate the alternative intersection design into the construction design of
STH 64 and forward all necessary correspondence and agreements to the County and
FURTHER, be it resolved that the City of New Richmond as the entity to which this
portion of CTH K was conveyed, also approve of this alternative intersection design.
