TO RENOVATE THE BOAT LANDING AT GLEN HILLS PARK

St. Croix County, Wisconsin
WHEREAS, public parks promote the public health, comfort, convenience and welfare;
and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County continues to provide outdoor recreational opportunities to
promote the well -being of individuals and families, improve the attractiveness of the county and
contribute to the social and economic health of the county and its communities; and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County has operated a county parks system for over 30 years to
provide recreational opportunities for County residents and the general public; and
WHEREAS, the St. Croix County Outdoor Recreation Plan identifies the need to renovate
and improve the boat landing at Glen Hills Park; and
WHEREAS, financial aid may be available in the form of a 50 percent matching grant from
the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources under the Recreational Boating Facilities Program
to renovate the boat landing at Glen Hills Park; and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County would be required to budget $17,000, as projected in the
Parks Department Capital Outlay plan for 2005, as the local share, for a total grant application of
$34,000, with the project being completed in 2005.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors hereby
authorizes application for a grant and assistance from the Wisconsin Department of Natural
Resources under the Recreational Boating Facilities Program; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that St. Croix County Board of Supervisors hereby
authorizes the County Director of Land, Water and Parks, acting under the direction of the Land
and Water Conservation Committee, to submit an application to the Wisconsin Department of
Natural Resources for a grant to improve the Glen Hills Park boat landing and to sign necessary
documents in compliance with grant requirements; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that St. Croix County will comply with state and federal
rules for the program; will meet the financial obligations under the grant; will maintain the
completed improvements in an attractive, inviting and safe manner; will keep the facility open to the
general public during reasonable hours consistent with the type of facility; and will obtain written
approval from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources before any change is made in the
use of the improved site.
