St. Croix County, Wisconsin
WHEREAS, the 2005 budget anticipated $213,859 for liability insurance premiums; and
WHEREAS, the actual liability insurance premiums for 2005 will be $398,789, an
increase of $184,930; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Wisconsin Statutes sec. 65.90(5), a budget amendment by the
County Board is necessary to authorize the additional expenditure for liability insurance
premiums; and
WHEREAS, the liability insurance fund will not have sufficient resources to cover this
additional expenditure and maintain the required fund balance; the Finance Committee is
recommending that the unreserved, undesignated General Fund Balance be authorized to cover
this expenditure.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors
that the 2005 budget be amended by adding $184,930 to the amount budgeted for liability
insurance premiums and approves use of the unreserved, undesignated fund balance to cover this
amount.
