HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions 2003 (29) RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CONSTRUCTION OF A MICROWAVE TOWER AT BALDWIN AND ESTABLISHING A BACKUP COMMUNICATIONS CENTER RESOLUTION NO. ol q ( cG 3J St. Croix County, Wisconsin WHEREAS, at its May 20, 2003 meeting the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors was presented with several options for upgrading the county's emergency communications system; and WHEREAS, the Emergency Management and Communications Committee recommended an upgrade option submitted by the Harris Corporation that included a new tower, (with associated microwave equipment) and a backup communications center at Baldwin; and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors approved an upgrade option submitted by the Harris Corporation to be funded by a general obligation bond that did not include a new tower and backup communications center at Baldwin; and WHEREAS, additional information has been provided to the Board relating to the microwave tower and backup communications center at Baldwin; and WHEREAS, the cost of the microwave tower and backup communications center at Baldwin was $388,486 but now is not more than $280,459. THEREFORE, be it resolved by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors that the microwave tower and backup communications center at Baldwin are approved to be constructed; FURTHER, be it resolved that the tower and backup communications center be incorporated into the Harris Corporation option approved on May 20, 2003; FURTHER, be it resolved that the Emergency Communications/Emergency Management Committee is to negotiate with Harris Corporation and Dairyland Power Corporation and bring back the final cost of the back -up Communications Center to the Board for approval of payment.
