AGRREMENT FOR A RECYCLING EDUCATION PROGRAM

St. Croix County, Wisconsin
WHEREAS, St. Croix County serves as a responsible unit for recycling under Chapter
287 of the Wisconsin Statues; and
WHEREAS, the effective program criteria for responsible units includes a public
education component to inform residents of the region of the reasons to recycle; and
WHEREAS, the Recycling Efficiency Incentive Grants program provides funding to
support these types of educational programs in cooperation with other responsible units; and
WHEREAS, St Croix County has the opportunity to enter into a cooperative agreement
with the counties of Eau Claire, Dunn, and Pepin in order to provide a recycling education
program to elementary schools in Western Wisconsin and qualify for additional funding through
the Recycling Efficiency Incentive Grant program.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors
authorizes the Planning Director to enter into a cooperative agreement with the counties of Eau
Claire, Dunn and Pepin to bring a recycling education program to St Croix County in 2004.
