St. Croix County, Wisconsin
Whereas, requests for new positions have been reviewed by the Personnel Committee and the Finance
Committee; and
Whereas, the Personnel Committee approved the following positions for consideration in the 2004
budget; and
Whereas, the Finance Committee also approved the same positions with three changes to position start
dates; and
Whereas the Finance Committee recommends approval of the following new positions effective
January 1, 2004 unless otherwise noted:
1.) Maintenance Helper /Groundskeeper (Custodian), County Maintenance Department
New, full -time position, cost: $45,839 Funding source: County levy
2.) Public Health Nurse (from 80% position to 100% position), HHS Department
Upgraded part -time position, additional 8 hours per week, cost: $13,018
Funding: Long Term Support Grant; stipulation that if grant money is not available, the
position will terminate under a "sunset clause"
3.) Mental Health Therapist, HHS Department, New, full -time position, Annualized Cost: $76,915
Funding: Position costs are reimbursed to County; no additional County levy money is needed
for this position
4.) Secretary, District Attorney's Office, New, full -time position, April 1, 2004 start date.
Cost: $36,173 Funding: County Levy
5.) Security Officer, Sheriff's Department, new, full -time position, April 1, 2004 start date.
Cost: $45,643 Funding: County Levy and 3 -year grant totaling $75,000 over the life of the
grant
6.) Purchasing Agent, Finance Department, New, full -time position, November 1, 2004 start date.
Cost: $10,559. Funding: County Levy
7.) Investigator, Sheriff's Department, New, full -time position. Funding: Grant; limited to
juvenile gun violence; position assigned to current staff, new position added at jail level;
position to sunset at such time as grant money terminated.
Therefore, be it resolved by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors that the positions listed above
are approved as indicated.
