BEDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF CREATING CM C 11 SLOTS

WHEREAS, The St. Croix Couny Nursing Home is responsible for caring for those in need of nursing
home care; and
WHEREAS, The County Board authorized the St. Croix County Nursing Home to bank beds on June
12, 2001; and
WHEREAS, the County Board studied the options as presented by Keefe and Associates; and
WHEREAS, the study has offered four options which include:
1. Status quo
2. Selling or closing the nursing home
3. Building a new building after downsizing
4. Remodeling the existing building with downsizing
WHEREAS, 3 of 4 options would require unbanking the 27 beds to be eligible for CIP 11 slots to benefit
the citizens of St. Croix County and reduce the waiting list for community services; and
WHEREAS, the unbanke �2beds would be eligible in 18 months after the date of the request to the State
of Wisconsin for CI P 11 slots,
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the St. Croix County Board that the St. Croix County Nursing
Home will proceed with unbanldng the 7 beds effective 12- 1 -841 with a letter to the State of Wisconsin
