CROIX COUNTY / C.a) Resolution #) WHEREAS, agriculture is one of St. Croix County's largest industries; and WHEREAS, agriculture sales amounted to $100 million in 2001; and WHEREAS, the sale of dairy products amounts to 60% ($60 million) of the total farm product sales; and WHEREAS, dairy products are wholesome and healthful foods; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors, meeting in regular session, that the month of June 2002 be proclaimed as "June Dairy Month" in St. Croix County. Nelson, St. Croix County Clerk RESOLUTION REQUESTING CONTINUATION OF TAX FILING RECIPROCITY BETWEEN WISCONSIN AND MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO. / b (2002) St. Croix County, Wisconsin WHEREAS, for decades the States of Wisconsin and Minnesota have agreed that residents of each state who are employed in the other state shall file a single income tax return, of their state of residence, and WHEREAS, filing an income tax return for both their state of residence and their state of employment would be more burdensome and expensive, and WHEREAS, thousands of St. Croix County residents are employed in Minnesota and many Minnesota residents are employed in St. Croix County, THEREFORE, the Board of Supervisors of St. Croix County requests the Wisconsin Counties Association to request that the Governor and Legislature of Wisconsin act to continue the agreement which enables filing of a single income tax return by residents of Wisconsin and Minnesota who are employed in the other state. Nelson County Clerk RESOLUTION AMENDING BOARD OF SUPERVISORS RULES AND BY -LAWS RESOLUTION NO. ST. CROIX COUNTY, WISCONSIN WHEREAS, the Administration Committee recommends that the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors Rules and By -Laws be amended as follows: A. In Article III, Section A, add at the end of the first sentence: "At the close of nominations each nominee for Chair shall address the Board of Supervisors by responding to the following questions: 1. As County Board Chair, what will be your major objectives and priorities? 2. If you are elected, are there things you will try to change or do differently as County Board Chair? 3. How would you describe the style you will use in working with your fellow supervisors, County committees and County staff?" B. In Article IV, Section A, subsection 1, replace, "These committees are formed immediately after the election of officers. Voting will be by secret ballot." with "Members of these committees shall be elected by secret ballot immediately after the election of officers. Supervisors may vote for up to five nominees. If less than five nominees receive a majority on the first ballot, there shall be a second ballot on which supervisors may vote for the remaining nominees up to the number of seats on the committee not yet filled. The second ballot procedure will be repeated, if necessary, until all the committee seats are filled. If more than five nominees receive a majority, the five nominees receiving the most votes shall be seated on the committee. If more than five nominees receive a majority, and there is a tie between two or more nominees receiving the smallest number of votes qualifying for a seat on the committee, there shall be another ballot between the nominees tied for the committee seat."
