Apply for a Lakes Planning Grant
RESOLUTION NO. 11 ( 6 6 aJ
St. Croix County, Wisconsin
WHEREAS, Lake St. Croix, a portion of the St. Croix River south of the Hudson bridge, is an
important resource used by the public for recreation and enjoyment of natural beauty; and
WHEREAS, the protection of this critical watershed area and maintenance of reasonable lake use
activities are paramount in the protection of water quality and the natural ecosystem of the lake;
and
WHEREAS, informational and educational programs are an essential component of watershed
protection and lake management; and
WHEREAS, the Land and Water Conservation Department desires to sponsor a protection and
management conference.
THEREFORE, be it resolved by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors that the Land and
Water Conservation Department is authorized to request $3000.00 from the Wisconsin
Department of Natural Resources under the "Lake Management Grant Program," to sponsor an
informational and educational conference relating to the protection and management of Lake St.
Croix; and
FURTHER, be it resolved that no County funds be expended in regard to this conference; and
FURTHER, be it resolved that Robert Heise, County Conservationist, is authorized to act on
behalf of the Land and Water Conservation Department to submit an application to the
Department of Natural Resources for a $3000 grant to sponsor the conference and take necessary
action to organize and present the conference.
FURTHER, be it resolved that St. Croix County Land and Water Conservation Department
comply with state rules for programs, may perform force account work, and comply with
obligations under the grant.
