Resolution Supporting
"Best Practices Partnership for Children, Youth & Families"
ST. CROIX COUNTY

WHEREAS, Wisconsin Counties devote considerable financial and human resources to
programs serving children, youth and families;
WHEREAS, addressing the needs of these constituents is increasingly complex and
expensive;
WHEREAS, education on state of the art research on program design, implementation
and evaluation can better inform decision makers, resulting in improved outcomes and
better use of scarce dollars;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that St. Croix County supports the UW-
Extension "Best Practices Partnership for Children, Youth & Families" budget initiative
which will bring the resources of the University of Wisconsin and other experts into the
community to develop and strengthen coalitions, assist with the identification and
prioritization of issues, identify an disseminate research -based programs and to
implement evaluation tools to determine program efficacy and guide funding decisions.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that St. Croix County requests support for this initiative
from members of the St. Croix County legislative delegation and asks that they
communicate their support for this initiative to the leadership of their respective houses
and the Governor;
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be sent to members of the
St. Croix County legislative delegation and Governor Tommy G. Thompson.
