FOR COUNTY NURSING HOME STUDY

St. Croix County, Wisconsin
WHEREAS, on January 23, 2001, the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors adopted
Resolution No. 3 (2001) – Resolution to Study County Nursing Home Operation; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 3(2001) identified 10 factors to be considered in the study
and authorized an amount not to exceed $55,000 to hire a consultant to do the study; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to the adoption of Resolution No. 3(2001), negotiations took
place between the County and Keefe & Associates, the favored consultant; and
WHEREAS, Keefe & Associates indicated that all work except out -of- pocket expenses
and recommended architect consulting fees could be covered with the $55,000 allocation; and
• WHEREAS, further negotiations resulted in Keefe & Associates agreeing that it would
absorb out -of- pocket expenses; and
WHEREAS, it was also agreed that a request for an additional $10,800 would be made to
the County Board for architect consulting fees and expenses (this request is not tied to Keefe &
Associates absorbing its out -of- pocket expenses.); and
WHEREAS, in order to obtain a valuable study of all 10 factors, the architect consulting
services are necessary; and
WHEREAS, the Finance Committee recommends allocating an additional $11,000 to this
study.
THEREFORE, be it resolved by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors that
$11,000 be added to the $55,000 already approved for the Nursing Home study;
FURTHER, be it resolved that the unbudgeted costs of this study be charged to the
General Fund as incurred and approved for payment.
