CARPENTER ST. CROIX VALLEY NATURE CENTER
TROY CONSERVANCY COALITION ADDITION

WHEREAS, the Carpenter St. Croix Valley Nature Center (CNC) has acquired 116 acres
of land in the Town of Troy for development into open space and wildlife habitat; and
WHEREAS, CNC has applied to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for
Wisconsin Stewardship Funds from the Knowles Nelson Stewardship Program to be used toward
land acquisition costs; and
WHEREAS, CNC has asked for support for its application from the St. Croix County
Board of Supervisors; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors finds that the Wisconsin Stewardship Funds will
serve a public purpose by preserving and maintaining wildlife habitat and providing public
outdoor recreation and education opportunities.
THEREFORE, be it resolved that the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors support the
application filed by the Carpenter St. Croix Valley Nature Center for Wisconsin Stewardship
Funds from the Knowles Nelson Stewardship Program.
