FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT SOFTWARE

WHEREAS, funds are needed to acquire a new software package for law enforcement
purposes at a cost of $299,107.58; and
WHEREAS, the 1999 County budget contingency fund balance was set at an amount
which anticipated an expenditure for law enforcement software; and
WHEREAS, Wisconsin Statute sec. 65.90(5) requires the Board of Supervisors to
authorize this expenditure by a two- thirds vote of its entire membership (21 votes) because the
expenditure exceeds 10% of the Computer Services Department budget.
THEREFORE, be it resolved by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors that the
amount of $299,107.58 be transferred from the County contingency fund to the Computer
Services Department to acquire and implement the law enforcement software system.
FURTHER, be it resolved that the County Clerk publish a class 1 notice of this action
within 10 days, pursuant to Wisconsin Statute sec. 65.90(5)(a).
