RESOLUTION NO. r l
ST. CROIX COUNTY, WISCONSIN
WHEREAS Squaw Lake is an important resource used by the public for recreation and
enjoyment of natural beauty; and
WHEREAS the protection of critical watershed areas and reasonable lake use activities
are paramount in protection of water quality and the natural ecosystem of the lake; and
WHEREAS we are qualified to carry out the responsibilities of this protection project
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, St. Croix County requests the funds and
assistance available from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources under the "Lake
Protection Grant Program" and
HEREBY AUTHORIZES Peter Kling to act on behalf of St. Croix County to: submit an
application to the State of Wisconsin for financial aid for lake protection purposes; sign
documents; and take necessary action to undertake, direct, and complete and approved protection
project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT St. Croix County will comply with state rules for
the program, may perform force account work, and will meet the financial obligations under the
grant.
FISCAL IMPACT: Costs to the County for implementation of this grant are reimbursed at 100 %,
75% by the State and 25% by the Squaw Lake District.
