MORATORIUM ON ST. CROIX HEALTH CENTER PROPERTY

St. Croix County, Wisconsin
WHEREAS, St. Croix County owns approximately 600 acres of land in and adjacent to
the City of New Richmond, commonly referred to as the "Health Center property"; and
WHEREAS, requests to purchase portions of the property are increasing; and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County has no formal plan for the future use, sale, or development
of the property, and such a plan is desirable and would be a benefit to the County and the public;
and
WHEREAS, the County Board Chair has created an ad hoc committee to prepare a long -
range management plan for the property; and
WHEREAS, in order to make the planning process more effective, a development
moratorium should be placed on the property.
THEREFORE, be it resolved by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors that a
development moratorium be and is hereby placed on the property, and that any sale or lease of the
property is hereby prohibited until further action of the County Board. This prohibition does not
apply to a lease of a building, or space on the water tower for a single commercial communication
antenna, for up to three (3) years.
