Resolution Approving Compensation Package for
Non - Represented Employees
for Years 2000 -2002

Whereas, there are approximately 150 non- represented employees of St. Croix
County Government; and,
Whereas, this employee group does not have a contract or compensation
package for calendar years 2000 -2002; and,
Whereas, the Personnel Committee recommends the compensation package of
this group; and,
Whereas, it is the goal of the Personnel Committee to consider internal and
external wage comparables and benefit trends when setting total compensation; and,
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors
that the following compensation package be adopted for non - represented employees
for calendar years 2000 -2002 as indicated below:
• Section 125 plan
• Direct deposit of payroll checks
• Implementation of an 11 -day lag for payroll checks currently issued as a
4 -day lag
* Attached wage grid schedule for the years 2000, 2001, and 2002
The compensation package includes a January 01, 2000 date for implementing
the wage schedule, followed by January 01 of the years 2001 and 2002. The 11 -day
tag will be phased in over an extended period of time in 2000 with the Finance
Department providing a schedule for this change. The direct deposit of payroll checks
will be a voluntary program and will occur after the full implementation of an upgraded
payroll system in early 2000. The Section 125 plan will provide employees an
opportunity to make pre -tax deductions from wages /salaries for medical insurance, non -
reimbursed medical costs, and dependent care. Information sessions for employees
will be scheduled for early 2000.
