PROCLAIMING AN EMERGENCY OR DISASTER

WHEREAS, The State of Wisconsin Emergency Management Policy requires that if a
County wants the State to request Presidential Disaster Assistance, its County Board of
Supervisors will first have to pass a resolution indicating it has incurred substantial damages and
that the cost of the disaster is beyond its resources; and
WHEREAS, if , because an emergency condition exists and the full County Board of
Supervisors is unable to meet with promptness, the County Board of Supervisors is authorized to
establish individual designees in a line of succession for proclaiming an emergency or disaster in
St. Croix County.
THEREFORE, be it resolved by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors that if the full
County Board of Supervisors cannot meet with promptness, the County Board Chairperson,
County Board Vice Chairperson, or the Emergency Government Committee Chairperson, in this
order, shall be allowed, by proclamation, to exercise all of the powers of the County Board of
Supervisors which appear necessary as the result of an emergency or disaster. Any proclamation
so declared shall be subject to ratification, alteration, modification or repealed by the Full County
Board of Supervisors as soon as the Board can meet.
