LAND CONSERVATION COMMITTEE BE AMENDED TO THE
ST. CROIX COUNTY LAND AND WATER CONSERVATION COMMITTEE
RESOLUTION NO. / 6
ST. CROIX COUNTY, WISCONSIN
WHEREAS, the Land Conservation Committees and Departments are
statutorily authorized to develop soil and water conservation
standards and administer programs that promote soil and water
conservation; and
WHEREAS, increasing responsibility and emphasis is being placed on
the vital importance of protecting and restoring the water quality
in the county; and
WHEREAS, including water in the department and committee's name
will provide the general public with a better understanding of our
overall mission; and
WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Land and Water Conservation Association
Board of Directors, upon receiving this membership input, voted in
support of amending their name to include the words "and water ";
and
WHEREAS, several Wisconsin Counties have added the words "and
Water" to their Land Conservation Department and Committee titles;
now
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the St. Croix County Land
Conservation Department be renamed the St. Croix County Land and
Water Conservation Department (LWCD), to further emphasize our
commitment to implementing multiple resource programs in St. Croix
County and Wisconsin; and
THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the St. Croix County Land
Conservation Committee be renamed the St. Croix County Land and
Water Conservation Committee (LWCC).
