FOR BALDWIN PINE LAKE
RESOLUTION NO. /C (('l q)
ST. CROIX COUNTY, WISCONSIN
WHEREAS, recreational fishing opportunities contribute to the quality of life in St. Croix
County; and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County has a relatively small number of quality fishing lakes ; and
WHEREAS, Baldwin Pine Lake has had a history as a productive fishing lake ; and
WHEREAS, after a period of low water and winter freeze -out, the sport fishing resource
was destroyed; and
WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the St. Croix County
Sportsmans Alliance, local land owners, and St. Croix County cooperated to develop and
implement a plan to restore sport fishing to the lake; and
WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources undertook a program to
control bullhead population and to restock game fish;
WHEREAS, opening day of the 1997 Wisconsin fishing season on Baldwin Pine Lake was
very successful, with dozens of fishermen enjoying the restored game fishery;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors
express its appreciation to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for implementing the
successful game fishing restoration program for Baldwin Pine Lake.
