DESIGNATING THE DUTIES OF COUNTY SURVEYOR BE PERFORMED
BY A REGISTERED LAND SURVEYOR EMPLOYED BY THE
ST. CROIX COUNTY HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT

St. Croix County, Wisconsin
WHEREAS, St. Croix County has previously employed an individual as the St. Croix
County Surveyor; and
WHEREAS, the supervision of the St. Croix County Surveyor, including budget
development, administration, has previously been assigned to the St. Croix County Highway
Commissioner; and
WHEREAS, the County Surveyor also performs services for the Planning, Zoning and
Parks Committee, and the departments under its supervision, including reviewing certified survey
maps, subdivision plats, and surveying land for County projects; and
WHEREAS, the St. Croix County Highway Department is reorganizing the surveying and
engineering functions that it currently performs; and
WHEREAS, Sec. 59.20, Wisconsin Statutes, provides that, in lieu of electing a County
Surveyor, the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors can designate that the duties of the County
Surveyor be performed by any registered land surveyor employed by St. Croix County.
THEREFORE, be it resolved that the duties of County Surveyor, as defined in Sections
59.45(1) and 59.74(2), Wisconsin Statutes, are to be performed by Daniel J. Fedderly, P.E.,
R.L.S., the County Highway Commissioner, who is a registered land surveyor, or an employee of
the Highway Department designated by him;
FURTHER be it resolved that the services previously provided to the Planning, Zoning
and Parks Committee will continue to be provided through a Highway Department budget
allocation for those services. The type and quality of services provided shall be acceptable to the
Planning, Zoning and Parks Committee.
