RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF A STATE
GRANT APPLICATION AND SUBSEQUENT APPROPRIATION OF
COUNTY FUNDS FOR A TIRE COLLECTION PROGRAM
RESOLUTION NO. ( )
WHEREAS, the County's Tire Collection Programs are intended to offer assistance to the citizens
for the proper disposal of waste tires and to process the tires to recover the most resources while having
an economically attractive program; and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County successfully organized and conducted a waste tire collection
program with the assistance of nineteen municipalities in 1995; and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County will carry out all proposed activities as described in the grant
application and approval for grant funding by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources; and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County will allow employees from the Department of Natural Resources
access to inspect the tire collection program sites and records upon request during normal business hours;
and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County will maintain records documenting all expenditures made during
the tire collection program; and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County will submit a fmal report to the Department describing all tire
collection program activities, achievements and problems, comparing the actual program with the activities
and objectives proposed in our application, and including samples of our information/education brochures,
data on participation rates, number of tires collected and documentation of the project costs.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that St. Croix County Board of Supervisors authorizes the
Solid Waste Coordinator to submit a state grant application for the Waste Tire Management Grant
Program with the intent of administering a tire collection program in the spring of 1996.
