AND TO TRANSFER RESPONSIBILITIES

St. Croix County, Wisconsin
WHEREAS, the St. Croix County Waste Management Committee has been charged
with directing solid waste policy and operating a solid waste system for the county;
developing and maintaining a county solid waste management plan; providing policy
direction for administration of the service agreement with American Resource Recovery,
Inc. for the St. Croix waste -to- energy facility; serving as the "responsible unit" under state
recycling law to carry out an effective recycling program; responsibility for policy direction
to Planning Department for program administration; and
WHEREAS, the County no longer has a contractual obligation with American
Resource Recovery for incineration of the County's solid waste; and
WHEREAS, the St. Croix County Waste Management Committee has determined
there is no further need for the committee's operation and that the committee's waste
management- .plan._.adstration- and recycling program can be transferred to another
county committee;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors
abolishes the Waste Management Committee, transfers its waste- - management- -plan -
administrationse- recycling programs to the Resource and Education Committee, and
revises the County's Rules Addendum to reflect the addition of the County's waste
management plan administration and recycling program to the Resource and Education
Committee.
